Old Business
Memorial Wall:
Dick Lesperance updated us. There are plans to have a WGA/MGA golf tournament with the proceeds to raise money for the wall and the engraving that will be required.
New Business
John B mentioned the $25 purchase for a 9/11 Flag that will be used on the 9th or 11th hole on 9/11. The WGA also purchased a flag which will be displayed on the other hole that day. Possibly the flags will be used during other holidays as well.
Dick Lesperance mentioned the Ice Cream social for welcoming new families to our community. He made a suggestion that the MGA have someone there to talk about our group.
John Barca mentioned that we need some volunteers for a nominating committee. We will be replacing two board members and need the nominations in place. He also asked for people to consider running for the open board spots.
Closest to the pin winners. There was discussion about having separate contests for closest to the pin winners from the green/red tees and the white tees. The tournament committee is putting together a study to see what people are winning the closest to pin $ during MGA play.
Most of the meeting was spent discussing the new tees that have been installed on the golf course. There were a wide range of opinions offered. There was a motion to let everyone playing the white tees to move to the green and everyone playing the greens to move to the reds. Again after much discussion, there was a vote and it passed 23 to 13.
This will be implemented the first Wednesday after August 15th to give Frank Schmidt time to adjust the handicaps.
John Barca suggested trying the new set up for a few weeks and then revisiting the issue.
